October 2: Read for the Record. See http://www.multcolib.org/events/record.html for more info, as there are events all day at many area libraries. Receive a free copy of Don Freeman's 'Corduroy' and try to break a world record for the most people reading a book on the same day; Sellwood reading time is 11-11:30 am, space is limited, so arrive early.

October 4: Storytime at Looking Glass Books. Free, all ages, 10 am.

October 5: Americana Music at Sellwood Library, 2-3 pm, all ages, free. Space is limited--tickets will be given out 30 min. before the program begins, so arrive early.

October 5: Mandarin/English Story time at Woodstock Library, ages 3-7, 1-1:30 pm.

October 8: Walk or Bike to School Day! More info. at www.walknbike.org

October 14: Lead poisoning prevention workshop: 6:30-8 pm at Grout Elementary School at 31st & SE Holgate. register 503-284-6827. free and open to all.

October 18: Sensory Story time at Woodstock Library, 9:30-10 am. Story time for all preschoolers, particularly those with sensory integration issues. Stories, songs and activities for kids who have a hard time sitting through other library story times.

October 19: Mandarin/English Story time at Woodstock Library, ages 3-7, 1-1:30 pm.

October 19: Run For Ed 5K run (benefit for Sellwood Middle School)

Meet at the north parking lot. From Hwy 99E (McLoughlin Blvd) take the Milwaukie exit and turn right.
